My 1 year blog anniversary and 100th Post

Can you believe that today is not only my 100th post but I’ve also been blogging for one year! How fast the time has flown by. I thought I’d take this opportunity to review whats happened over the course off the year, both good and bad!

Our path to FIRE has changed completely since my first post!

First Post

We really thought we would reach FIRE through the traditional route of Investing, saving and cutting our expenses. Its not even possible for us to build an emergency fund. But we do have a new plan!

We moved from a tiny flat in a busy city to a detached house in the country. I couldn’t be happier now we live in a nice, quiet, picturesque village.

Mr Fire had his first ever blog post!

I learned to drive and then hated it to the point it made me ill. Its much better now but I still get freaked out over parking or driving in the dark.

My slightly odd interest in the psychology of money and the mindset behind it lead me to create different types of posts such as The Financial Excuse mindset and Are you a spender or a saver?

Monevator and The Escape Artist liked my Shopfloor Mentality post which was the first really personal post about my childhood I’ve ever written. Its my most popular post ever!

I tried Matched Betting, lost big on Acca’s and then swapped to Each Way sniping which is a much better fit for me.

I’ve been interviewed not once but twice! Plus I wrote my first ever guest post.

Its actually been a really great year for me as I tried and failed and changed my mindset on money. I am also much more motivated now to make money than ever before!

I’d like to end with a big thank you to everyone for reading and sticking with me for a whole year! Here’s to many more!
